Anubis
Anubis, as seen in Tutankhamun's tomb
Anubis is the God of the Afterlife, who oversees the process of embalming mummies. The process of embalming is: "to treat (a dead body) so as to preserve it, as with chemicals, drugs, or balsams" (<www.dictionary.com>). Anubis's animal was a jackal, and is generally pictured in his anthropomorphic form. Although, in Tutankhamun's tomb, he was pictured in his true animal state, as seen in the picture to the left.
Ma'at
Ma'at, as seen in King Neftari's tomb
Ma'at was the Goddess of Law, Truth, and Justice. She is known for her defining characteristic of having an ostrich feather in her hair. She is handed the heart of the mummy from Anubis, and weighs the heart on a scale against her ostrich feather. If the heart is lighter, said person lived a good life and was sent to the underworld. If it is heavier, said person is devoured by Sobek, the Devourer of Souls.
Sobek
After Ma'at weighs your heart when you've been mummified, depending whether it is lighter or not, you will be tried by Sobek, the Devourer of Souls, who had the head of a crocodile. If your heart was lighter, he shall let you pass, and you go straight to the Underworld, the place where it is your goal to go for your entire life. If your heart is heavier, then he will devour your spirit and you will not pass into the Underworld.
Khonsu
This picture does not show the God Khonsu, but it's more about what's not visible than what is. There are no accurate pictures of Khonsu, aside from the Marvel superhero. There is a completely bare wall in every pharaoh's tomb, so Khonsu watches over them and protects them from evil spirits.
